London, 21 November 2005, Conival is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Paul Clayton and Paul McGowan as non-executive directors of the Company with immediate effect.
Dr Paul Clayton, 54, is a renowned and well published expert in the area of functional nutrition and health. He is a former Senior Scientific Advisor to the UK Government's Committee on the Safety of Medicines, and currently a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine where he is President of the Forum on Food & Health. He sits on the scientific advisory boards of the Nutritional Therapy Council, the Allergy Research Foundation (London), and Food & Behaviour Research (Oxford).
Dr Clayton has worked with leading doctors and clinical scientists at centres of clinical expertise in the UK and abroad, has designed clinical trials for nutritional therapies at leading teaching hospitals, and lectures widely on nutrition and health. He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster and Research Director of Medical Nutrition Matters, a post-graduate course for GP's based at the Royal College of General Practitioners (London). Its function is to teach nutrition to GP's and other health care providers.
Paul McGowan, 38, is Chief Executive, Global Clients, of Added Value, a strategic marketing insight company which is part of WPP plc, which has some 800 staff and established businesses in UK, USA, Germany, Japan, China, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, India, South Africa and Australia.
Paul brings a wealth of experience in FMCG marketing across a wide range of industries, and has worked across most of the Added Value’s big clients and in particular, has led the agency’s relationship with General Motors, Levis Strauss, Pernod Ricard and Sainsbury’s.
Blaise Craven has resigned as non-executive director of the Company. The Board would like to thank him for his contribution to the Company since he joined the Board soon after flotation and his guidance through the early stages of the Company’s development and Conival’s first acquisition.

“The new appointments will add significant additional experience to the board with Dr Clayton bringing scientific expertise in the area of functional nutrition and Paul McGowan his brand and marketing expertise, particularly in the FMCG area.”
For the purposes of paragraph (f) of schedule 2 of the AIM rules no other disclosures are required under paragraph (f) in respect of both Dr Paul Clayton and Paul McGowan.
